A standing desk is great, as is a foot board if you sit, a ball chair, or a desk cycle or something. As is having a big monitor (or two) at eye level so you aren't hunched over and a comfortable keyboard and mouse. Yes, a $800 chair or whatever is expensive. In addition, you need to make sure to get up and move around throughout the day.įirst, get a good setup. This will cause loads of problems later on. Muscle atrophy will happen if you just sit down all day and never use your muscles. Yeah, it's not cheap, but it's going to save you months of physical therapy. Play games, do chores, browse reddit, get up and walk/stretch, etc. You cannot be productive for 8 hours a day. Doing something besides work is perfectly okay.Find a way to transition from work to home. You aren't getting paid any extra to work more, so just end it when you should. When WFH, it's really easy to get caught up in just continuing to work once the clock hits closing time.Again, this has been so incredibly helpful in training myself when to work and when not to. After work, go on a walk to train yourself to get out of the "I'm at work" mentality. It's been incredibly useful in regards to training my brain when it's time to work.
